The dying daylight greets me
As I step out of the door
My mood lifted discreetly
Yet in ways I can’t ignore
What pallid rays may reach me
Wending homeward from these trials
Clouds cover incompletely,
Filter smiles back to my eyes
Sunshine
Weather the weather, whatever
Some days I am connected
To all nature on this earth
Yet others I am restless
And unsure about my worth.
Such times of inner turmoil
Can last a goodly while
Yet in the end, the sunshine
Will always make me smile.
